DahiVada is more like the regular fritter, where the batter, which is also thick (not as much as for dahiVada) , but creamy , and is directly scooped intofrying pan and shallow fried
Dahi Gujiya which are Moon Shaped LentilDumplings with a nutty fillinginside and topped with flavoured thick yogurt, chutneys and aromatic freshly ground roasted spices
DahiVadas are served in two ways, either as part of an Indian meal or as chaat. My mom made the best dahivadas(were made almost every Sunday), I've tried to recreate her recipe
Dahi Bhalla | LentilDumplings Dipped in Creamy Whipped YogurtDahi Bhalla as the name suggests is a dipped in thick, creamy rich curd and served with spicy and tangy tamarind-jaggery sauce and some dry roasted spices like cumin seeds
These are bakedlentildumplings dipped inyogurt and topped with spices. Traditionally dahivadas are deep fried dumplings soaked inyogurt but for the healthier option choose baking , this can be served as a snack or chaat
"DahiVada" or "Dahi Bhalla" or "Thayir Vada", call it with whatever name you like, if you like curds, this is one street food/starter/evening snack that you will love to eat
Whenever we dine out at Arya Bhavan or Gowri Shankar restaurant which are the best vegetarian hotels here in my opinion, I used to order curd vadai as a starter or like soups which we order in other hotels
Cut open the burger bun, spread labneh on both slices, place some cucumber slices, place the bakedlentil tikki, top it with mintyyogurt sauce, squeeze some spicy tomato ketchup, and close with other slice of the burger
The other day I had unexpected guests for dinner and I had only about an hour to cook so I made up this dish which I called Dahi Elaichi chicken and it was an instant hit
