Ingredients

  • 1 cup chawali / black eyed beans
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai / sarson)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • pinch of asafetida
  • 1 small onion roughly chopped
  • 1 medium tomato roughly chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves (lehsun)
  • small piece of ginger (adrak)
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 5-6 curry leaves
