Ingredients

  • gms chana dal/split yellow chickpeas washed and soaked overnight in warm
  • water
  • 1 big onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • tomato chopped
  • ½ kg fresh palak/spinach
  • properly washed and chopped
  • pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 dry whole red chillies
  • 1 tsp deghi red chilli powder
  • tablespoon ghee/clarified butter
  • tablespoon white oil/canola/any vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • to taste
