DHOKAR DALNA  (A TRADITIONAL BENGALI VEGETARIAN DISH (CHANA DAL KOFTA CURRY  OR BENGAL GRAM LENTIL'S CAKE SIMMERED IN FLAVOURFUL GRAVY.)

Ingredients

  • 1.2 cup bengal gram dal (cholar dal),
  • 1 bay leaf,
  • 1 tsp ginger paste,
  • 1 tsp cumin powder,
  • 1 tsp coriander powder,
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder,
  • 1 tsp chilli powder,
  • Potatoe-1 (cut into medium cubes)[optional]
  • 1 tsp ghee,
  • 1/2 sp garam masala powder,
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds,
  • 1/2 cup oil ( preferrably mustard oil )
  • Salt to taste
