Ingredients

  • 20 minutes Cook Time
  • 25 minutes Total Time
  • 1/2 cup moong dal (split skinless mung beans) or yellow split peas;
  • 1/2 cup rice (I used long grain basmati rice);
  • 4 tbsp lime or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp black mustard seeds
  • 1 dry red chilli;
  • 1 green chilli, chopped (optional);
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely chopped or grated
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder;
  • 1 tsp salt;
  • 2 tbsp oil;
  • 3 cups water;
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves;
