Add onions , green chillies , tomatoes and peas. This is a wonderful Gujarati meal with combination of brokenwheat , split green gram and few mild spices
Then add in chopped onion,green chilly,ginger ,curry leaves and saute. Roast the brokenwheat in. You may ask what's the difference in upma & khichdi is its water ratio where in upma we use 1. 2 ,to get a grainy one while in khichdi we use 1. Brokenwheat / samba rava- 1 cup. onion-1, sliced. Roast the brokenwheat in 1\2 tsp ghee for few seconds
I have made this recipe without onion and garlic hence can be eaten during fasting or vrat. Dalia Khichdi or Broken(CrcakedWheatKhichdi) is a simple, nutritious and tasty one pot meal
Add the wheatrava/brokenwheat to the ghee and roast it until a nice aroma comes out. Rajasthani lapsi are traditionally prepared with jaggery and with ghee along with nuts and raisins
Remove from the flame and repeat the process with the remaining batter. Brokenwheat or dalia or lapsi or samba godhumai is prepared by milling whole wheat grains coarsely
Let it ferment over night. Daliya / brokenwheat 1 & 1/2 to 2 cup. Morning , heat the thava , spread 2 drops of oil , spread a laddle full of batter on thava , sprinkle little oil
She made Wheat rava idli and it tasted good. Wash Wheat rava and drain the water. Wheat rava / BrokenWheat - 2 cups. Next day morning wash poha and soak for 15 mins. Add Wheat Rava and grind for another 3 mins. Ferment the batter for 6 - 8 hours or overnight
Refrigerate the remaining batter. So here is the one i tried first, BrokenWheat dosa. Made from crushing whole wheat berries, the nutrition and fiber is intact and hence very healthy
