It was the time when Amma started making FishFry with Vanjaram/ Seer Fish. The most I have made was to fry them, after the masala is made and the fish is marinated
Dry roast the all above mentioned spices in a frying pan until they leave nice aroma, keep aside. 450 grams/ 1 cup(de-veined) neatly cleaned prawns. 1 tbsp poppy seeds/ khaskhas/ gasagasalu. 6 cloves/ lovng/ lavangalu. 1” cinnamon stick/ dalchini/ dlachina chakka. 2 cardamom/ elaichi/ yalukalu. 1 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera/ jeelakarra. 1 tsp coriander seeds/ dhania/ dhaniyalu. Heat oil in a frying pan, on over low flame, add cleaned prawns, salt, turmeric pwd, ginger garlic paste and ground masala paste and cook covered by stirring constantly for 10- 15 minutes or until the paste starts leaving oil around the edges of the pan. Remove lid, stir fry for 5-7 minutes or until even browning
Add all the dry spices, ginger garlic paste, rice flour in a bowl, add little by little water and make a thick paste as there are no lumps in it, add lemon juice/vinegar mix properly, the consistency of the paste must be not too thick or too thin
