The batter should be just like riceidli batter consistency ( thick, yet smooth). I have used Whole Wheat Flour or 'Chakki Atta' ( stone ground wheat flour), as it is locally called to make this Idli
then add half cup of semolina / sooji. also i have other idli recipes like idli with cooked rice, idly with idli rava, mini idli, kotte kadubu also have look at my dosa, plain dosa, neer dosa, poori etc
A quick and easy side dish for InstantDosai/Idli /Upma or even Chapathi. I had shared with you all that I had made a Spicy Instant Tomato Chutney - Thakkali Kuzhambu as a side dish for Godumai Dosai
A small tip (from my experience) - this dosa is addictive and tempting. Tawa/PancakeSkillet/griddle. "Godumai Dosai" is an instant dosa recipe that is commonly prepared in most Tamil homes

i have shared quite a few instant recipes, especially have a look at the instantpohaidli, instant bread medu vada, instant jalebi recipe and instant stuffed idli

Take poha ( no need to wash) and grind it in a mixie/mixer to a fine powder. BeatenRice/FlattenedRice more popularly known as 'Poha' in India , can be used to make variety of recipes
I have used brown aval or brown riceflakes. If you go down that route, you may want to use the white aval instead of the brown one, just so it looks nice in the milk-sugar base and not like ugly brown flakes
We can make these ladoos with regular white riceflakes and sugar but I have used red ricepoha and jaggery and also a little bit of roasted gram dal/dalia in the ladoos, so it's a little more healthier
