Ingredients

  • Gatte balls
  • 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 1 Cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 ts Cumin powder
  • A hint of Asafoetida
  • Salt per taste
  • 1 tbs Oil
  • 1 1/2 Cup Basmati Rice (Soaked in Water)
  • 2 Cup Mixed vegetables of your choice (Peas,Cauliflower,Potato cubes etc)
  • 2 Onions, Sliced
  • 2 Green chili, Chopped
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 Cup thick Yogurt
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 2 Green cardamom
  • 1 Black cardamom
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Ginger/Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Black pepper, crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp mixed berries(dried Cranberry, sultanas, black currant) or Rasins
  • 1 tbs chopped dates or dried dates
  • Handful of Almonds
  • Handful of Cashewnuts, halved
  • 10-12 Gatte balls
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • Clarified butter (ghee) for frying
