PitaBread is also known as Arabic breador a Middle Eastern bread. Take a mixing bowl ( I used a food processor to knead the dough) add all purpose flour , baking powder, oil, salt, mix it well, add the yeast mixture and mix it well adding more water as required to make a soft smooth dough
Taking my love for Lebanese cuisine forward, I’m sharing these Pitas, teamed some piping hot Falafels and Cilantro Jalapeño Hummus with my gang at Angie’s “Fiesta Friday” being hosted Loretta @Safariofthemind and Ginger@Ginger&Bread
Mix the flour with the yeast mix, add more warm. This ensures that both the layers of the pitabread are of even thickness when it is cooked and it puffs up
Sunday night means something special at home and with a big dilemma I made up a Mediterranean Platter, PITABREAD, FALAFEL AND TAHINI with some deshi style tandoori chicken
Now cover and let it cook for 1 hour, until it rises. Then make the portions, knead it well roll out and bake it for 7 minutes or grill it for 5 minutes
Press the bread with spatula or hand towel to help puffing it properly. After taking them out immediately cover them with cloth orstore them in plastic bag
This is an amazing theme to contribute towards as my first post to #BreadBakers as I always have seen Mum love her Zaatar manakish orflatbreads such as Kuboos orPitaBread with Hummus and Garlic paste
Soft and pillowy Middle eastern pitabreadfor great falafel sandwiches and crisp pita chips. Fattoush salad, Tabbouleh, hummus and Falafel sandwiches are all my favorites
Khubz Arabi or khuboos as it is known here in this part of world, is nothing but the pitabread(for rest of the world) a soft, pillow-y flat-bread, baked using wheat flour
