After yesterday's Paneer Pudinawaale using one favourite herb - Mint , we move onto another of our winter favourites - fenugreekleaves or Methi (as its locally called)
AlooMethi - FenugreekLeaveswithPotato, this is one of the most common and known combination. As other dishes, this aloomethi also can be made in many ways
Add another extra half cup of water if you want the rice soft ( for kids ). AlooMethi rice comes in very handy when we are short of time or when we are in a hurry or when there are any guests at hme without any prior notice
Poatao along with grated coconut helps tone down the bitter taste of the baby methi. Strain the leaves using a sieve with circular holes (chalni) to get rid of all the residue, and wash them properly again
Cover with a lid and cook it until both onions and tomatoes are cooked completely. Methi -Aloo. This recipe uses Vendaya Keerai (Fresh FenugreekLeaves) and potatoes
Aloomethi is a common dish prepared almost in every household in Delhi. Turn over and roast with the crispy fried potatoes till it becomes dry when all the water from the methi gets absorbed and you get a whiff of the aroma from it
). Aloomethi pulao recipe. The recipe is by far simple, you just have to saute boiled potatoes and methileaveswith few spices and mix with cooked basmati rice
My mom generally cook fenugreekleaves and soya leaves(Dillleaves) withpotatoes together and I will post my mom's aloo and soya-methi sabzi someday when I get fresh dill leaves
