  • Serves: 4-5 ppl.
  • 1/4 cup black urad dal
  • 1/4 cup masoor dal
  • 1/4 cup toovar dal
  • 1/4 cup green dal
  • 1/4 cup chana dal
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Green chilli paste
  • A pinch of hing
  • 2 small chopped onions
  • 2 big chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Coriander.


    Soak all five dals for 2hrs atleast. Then in a pressure cooker add dal, salt and turmeric and cook it for 5-6 whistles. Let the pressure escape from the cooker.
    Meanwhile, in a pan add oil, hing, cumin seeds, Ginger Garlic Green chilli paste, onions. Saute for a min or two. Now add tomatoes and cook till they are soft and done. Add this mixture in dal and whisk for a min and keep it on low flame for 15 mins. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it with rice or chapati.
