Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 Button Mushrooms, halved {Can be substituted with Potato, Cauliflower or Paneer}
  • 2 medium sized Onions, finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves,minced
  • 1 inch Ginger piece, minced
  • A sprig of Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 large Tomato, finely chopped
  • 1/2 Tbsp Red chilli Powder/ to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar/ Jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  •  
  • For the spice paste/ masala
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 Tbsp Coriander seeds/ Coriander Powder {I used powder}
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds/ Jeera
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds/Saunf
  • 2 Cloves 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Cardamoms
  • 6-7 Black peppercorns
  • 2-3 dry Red Chillies
  • 3 Tbsp freshly grated/ desiccated Coconut
