To check sugar syrup consistency, dip your hand in a bowl of water (to avoid getting burn) and touch sugar syrup from ladle or spoon that you are using between your fore finger and thumb, when you separate your fingers you can see one string forming, if the string breaks then it's not ready yet cook for another min in slow flame and repeat the test
