oats khichdi recipe | easy and healthy oats khichdi recipe Save Print Prep time 5 mins Cook time 15 mins Total time 20 mins oats khichdi recipe | easy and healthy oats khichdi recipe Author: Hebbar's Kitchen Recipe type: breakfast Cuisine: north indian Serves: 2 Servings Ingredients ½ cup moong dal 1 cup rolled oats 1 tsp cumin / jeera 1 tsp ginger, chopped 1 green chilli, chopped 1 onion, finely chopped ½ carrot, chopped 4 beans, chopped 4 cups water ½ tsp turmeric pinch of hing / asafetida 1 tsp ghee salt to taste Instructions wash and soak moong dal in water for 5 minutes heat the ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and hing. when they sizzle, add curry leaves and ginger. saute till it turns aromatic. do not burn. now add chopped onions, green chilli and saute till they change colour. add tomatos and fry till they turn soft and mushy. later add carrot and beans (or veggies of your choice) and saute for about 2 to 3 minutes drain the water from half cup dal and add it to the pot along with turmeric. fry for about 2 to 3 minutes till the dal smells good. add 1 cup of oats, salt and fry for about 2 minutes pour 4 cups of water. you can adjust the quantity of water to make it mushy or slightly grainy. on a medium flame, pressure cook for two whistle. serve oats khichdi warm after garnishing with some coriander leaves. 3.5.3208
