Paneer Vegetable Biryani

Ingredients

  • 1 )curd -1 cup
  • 2 )Biryani masala - 2 tbsp
  • 3 )chili powder -1 tbsp
  • 4 )carrots - 2
  • 5 )capsicum -1/2
  • 6 )onion -1
  • 7 )Fried onions - 1/2 cup (If not there you can fry normal onions and add them)
  • 8 )butter /ghee -1 tbsp
  • 9 )oil -1 tbsp
  • 10 )cloves -2
  • 11 )cardamon -2
  • 12 )bay leaves -2
  • 13 )cinnamon -1
  • 14 )Basmati Rice -2 cups
  • 15 )Paneer - 1 1/2 cup
  • 16 )salt -2 tbsp
  • 17 )garam masala -1/2 tbsp (optional)
  • 18 )GG paste -1/2 tbsp
  • 19 )turmeric- pinch
  • 20 )mint leaves -7-8
  • 21 )coriander -3-4
  • 22 )tomato -1
  • 23 ) green peas -1/2 cup
  • 24 )Water - 2cups
  • * Note : If you want you can add more veggies. This is for 2 cups basmati rice

Instructions

    Method :



    * Soak basmati rice 1 hr before cooking.
    * If you want you can marinate all the veggies before 1 hour.Because of less time i have added all the veggies directly.


    Marination:

    * Take a bowl add 1 cup of curd ,chilli powder,salt ,turmeric ,1 tbsp biryani masala ,GG paste ,paneer and all the veggies
    .Keep aside for 1 hr .


    Cooking Method :(Using Marinated Method)

    1)Take a pressure cooker add 1 tbsp of oil.When the oil is heated add cloves,cardamon,cinnamon,bay leaves and add the marinated veggies.
    2)cook the veggies for 5 min then add soaked rice create some gaps in between with the help of spoon .
    3)Now add the water, remaining 1 tbsp of biryani masala,fried onions,ghee/butter ,mint & coriander.
    4)close the lid ,Keep the whistle and simmer it for 20 min.
    5)After 20 min switch off the stove.Take it in a bowl.
    6)Serve hot with raita.


    Method 2 : (Without marinating veggies)

    1)Take a pressure cooker add 1 tbsp of oil.When the oil is heated add cloves,cardamon,cinnamon,bay leaves.
    2)Add all the ingredients like curd,chili powder,biryani masala ,salt , turmeric,GG paste ,garam masala(optional).Let this cook for 2 min.
    3)Now add paneer and all the veggies .
    4)Let this cook for 5-10 min.
    5)Add the soaked rice along with 11/2 cup of water ,remaining 1 tbsp of biryani masala,fried onions,ghee/butter ,mint & coriander.
    6)close the lid ,Keep the whistle and simmer it for 20 min.
    7)After 20 min switch off the stove.Take it in a bowl.
    8)Serve hot with raita.
