  • ½ tsp urad dal
  • ½ tsp chana dal
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp very finely chopped garlic
  • 6-7 curry leaves
  • 3-4 dried red chillies
  • 2. If the dal rasam is too tangy then balance it by adding very few sugar crystals to balance the tangy taste
