Ingredients

  • 250 ml cup
  • 2 medium size bitter gourds ( de seeded and sliced thin)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dhania powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons thick tamarind paste or lemon size tamarind ( soak in warm water and extract the juice)
  • 1 teaspoon powder
  • 1 teaspoon rice flour
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • 1. In a wide pan or kadai , add onion, bitter gourd, tomato puree
  • 3. Add the tamarind juice .
  • 5. If the gravy is watery, you can add
  • 1 teaspoon rice flour
  • 2 teaspoons water
