Ingredients

  • 1 cup White Chickpeas (Kabuli Channa) - soaked overnight in water
  • 3 tbsp channa dal (bengal gram / kadalai paruppu) - soaked overnight in water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 medium sized onions - finely chopped
  • 1 green chili - slit at the end
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Punjabi Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp pomegranate powder / anardana powder
  • asofoetida - a pinch
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 3 tbsp mustard oil (or) any vegetable oil of your choice
  • 1 tea bag - optional
