Ragimurukku is a Kongu Nadu ( region in and around Coimbatore district) special snack. Grease the murukku-press with oil, then fill the murukku-press with dough upto ¾
The high level of fibers in ragi helps in digestion and keeps the stomach full for a longer period and thus prevent from over eating and helps in losing weight
I have earlier shared the Ragi Dosai recipe and today I am going to share the Ragi Idli recipe. Ragi is easy to digest and fermented ragi is extremely good for health
Wash thoroughly ragi in water for three to four times. Ragi or FingerMillet is a very healthy grain. It can be consumed in different ways like dosa, Ragi Mudda, Ragi biscuit, Ragi Sankati
Howtomake Sprouted Ragi Powder at Home. So sprouting the ragi will make it easier to digest. Then i strain that and add ragi powder in it, strain again and cook them together
I wanted tomakeRagi Ribbon Murukku for this diwali. Make a smooth dough (make sure your dough is little softer than normal Murkku) by adding little by little (I have realized that I didn't take any pic so I tooktowards end of it that's why u see little dough below)
If you makeragi idli, dosa without rice it taste good and comes well too the only difference I find is idli will not be fluffy like how it's in these pictures so using only ragi gives slightly flat idli but if you are looking for gluten-free or totally avoiding rice then that won't be a issue, in notes section I have mention howtomakeragi idli without rice so read that if you are interested
Notes Tomake buttermilk, in a bowl, add curd and water, whisk well with salt. Coming to the recipe, Aadi Koozh / Ragi Koozh Recipe/ Fingermillet Porridge is a vegetarian recipe made from Kezhvaragu (Ragi/ Fingermillet), buttermilk, salt and water
Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you. The ragi just act as a thickening agent and gives a nice creamy texture to the smoothie
