Its been a while i bought some thick redrice flakes for making upma with it, but none at home want to have upma hence a packet of redrice flakes was sitting in my pantry
This Dahi Poha/ThayirAval/Curd beaten rice/MosaruAvalakki is easy to make breakfast recipe and the speciality about this recipe is that a healthier red variety is being used
The color of the payasam was not very attractive, might be because of the redpoha/aval or also because of the jaggery color, I have used organic jaggery powder
how to make redavalupma. It is of two types namely white aval and redaval. When the water comes to the boiling temperature, add the cleaned aval or rice flakes and wait for five minutes till the rice flakes become soft
Heat a pan, add oil, crackle the mustard seeds, add the red chillies, cumin seeds, add the cleaned, dry poha ( beaten rice flakes, add turmeric powder and all the ingredients one by one, keep roasting till the poha becomes crisp and well coated with turmeric poswder
Though these are optional ingredients, do give it a try when you make poha next time. Ingredients. Poha or the beaten rice can be used to make so many dishes and my love for poha is 'no secret', especially if you are following me on instagram or snapchat
