Akkiroti / Riceroti is a unique breakfast of Karnataka. The white riceroti with beautiful brown spots in it goes well with any spicy accompaniment like enne badanekai (ennai kathirikkai) and spicy tomato chutney
though you are eating from ages, it is always considered as favorite, Its so addictive, delicious and healthy, Hot hot akkirotti straight from pan with ghee/butter and chutney is just heavenly
Take a portion and roll it between your palms to form a smooth ball, you can roll it on a rolling pin,by dusting rice flour to roll it to a medium thin roti’s but it may break/cut (need much experience to make)
Akkirotti / roti is one such food that has fascinated me and I can live eating it alone, for days. Now heat a skillet/tawa, carefully transfer the rolled akkiroti on to skillet
AkkiRotis are simple and delicious rotis made using rice flour ( akki meaning rice in Kannada ), very popular dish in Karnataka and they make many varieties, plain ones and then so many versions using different vegetables
Rice Flour Rotis ( Arisi Maavu Chappathis, Ukkarisida AkkiRoti ), my friend had made this for her son who had gluten allergy, it looked close to wheat flour rotis and it tasted good too
PHULKA / ROTI. Though these rotis can be served with any gravy or spicy chutney, the most famous combo in Karnataka is - Badanekayi ennegayi palya + Jolada Rotti + Shenga Chutney Pudi (Stuffed Brinjal +Jowar Roti+ Peanut chutney powder)
