  • 1 Cup Whole Black gram
  • 1 Tablespoon raw rice
  • 1 inch chopped ginger
  • 1 large onion
  • finely chopped
  • 3 green chillies finely chopped
  • ½ cup finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 500 ml Yoghurt
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon Fenugreek
  • 3. Be very careful while adding water to grind the batter, just add enough for grinding
  • 6. Beat the batter before frying to provide aeration which is very important to get crispy, light vadas
