Tam Brahm Style Arisi Upma | Savoury Rice Upma |Traditional Tiffin Recipe from Tamil Nadu | Gluten Free and Vegan Recipe

Ingredients

  • 250 m cup
  • 1 cup raw rice ( wash and pat dried)
  • 1/4 cup tuvar dal
  • 1 teaspoon jeera
  • 1 teaspoon peppercorns
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup fresh coconut ( grated)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal
  • 3-4 dry red chillies
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 3. Once tempered, add water, salt and when the water starts to heat up add the ground mixture.
  • 5. Once well mixed, reduce the flame to low , cover and cook for at least 15 minutes or until the time the rice and dal are fully cooked.
