Ingredients

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup split green gram
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon peanuts
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped
  • 1-2 green chillies
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon roasted gram
  • 4-5 strands of fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon split black gram
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 3. In a pressure cooker, heat oil over low flame and add the tomatoes and curry leaves.
  • 5. Now add the cubed bottle gourd and stir to mix.
  • 6. Add the moong dal and peanuts .
  • 8. Add the ground paste, adjust salt and pressure cook the kootu over medium flame upto 4 whistles and switch off.
