You can serve this pongal with any chutney of choice oreven sambar, thinaipongal is really delicious and very easy to prepare makes great breakfast or dinner
Millets Friday is back with this sweet milletpongal it's so easy to prepare and thinaimakes creamy, delicious pongal that you can easily like this more than regular sakkarai pongal
Although we do use Jowar in Thalipeeth, and Ragi (Fingermillet) in Ragi Rotti, Ragi Sevai, RAgi Sankati regularly, it was actually when I made ThinaiPongal last year did we actually relish these millets in everyday dishes
Toss the mixture into the pongal. Serve hot with raitha ortomato chutney. Total time. Kharapongal is a mellow porridge of rice, and lentils, but this recipe has wholesome millets, lentils,whole peppercorns and other spices
Ingredients Thinai/Foxtailmillet - 1cup Moong dhal- ½ cup Salt to taste Oil/ ghee- 2 tsp Pepper- 2tsp Cmuing seed- 1 tsp Curry leaves few Ginger grated - 1tsp Cashew nuts- 1tsp Badam- 1 tsp(optional) Instructions Wash and soak millet/ thinnai in water for 10 minutes In a pressure pan, heat oil/ghee cashew and badam (optional) roast it Add cuming seed, pepper, curry leaves, ginger grated and saute it Add Moong dhal and drained thinai/foxtail Add 2 cup of waterand salt and close the lid of the pressure pan Wait for 3 whistle and open the lid Stir it well Healthy and tasty thinaipongal is ready to serve 3
Already I have posted a recipe forVennPongal and now it’s time to thing something innovative with this Vennpongal, so I have induced Thinaiarisi / Foxtailmillet instead of rawrice
and today it’s time forfoxtailmilletspongal. Relish healthy and tasty Spicy foxtailmilletpongal with coconut chutney or tamarind gojju ( a kind of dip or sauce )
