  • 1 1/4 cup basmati rice
  • 3-4 tomatoes chopped fine
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 small piece of ginger crushed
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal
  • 2 teaspoons peanuts
  • 10-12 cashew nuts
  • 1/2 turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • Sesame oil
  • Salt

  • Method
  • 1. Soak basmati rice for 15-20 minutes and pressure cook with 2 cups of water for up to 3 whistles.Once pressure is released spread it on a wide plate and allow to cool completely
  • 2. In a wok,add little sesame oil and temper with mustard and urad dal.The add cashews,peanuts and saute till golden.Add green chillies,curry leaves,ginger,asafoetida and saute for 2 minutes
