Driedturkeyberries have many health benefits, especially its advised to take often in our diet. Usually Vathakuzhambu/Vathal Kuzhambu is prepared simply with dried berries or else with sun dried vegetables
'Vengayam' means onions and 'Vathal' in Tamil actually means sun dried vegetables/fruits or lentils. Vengaya Vathal Kuzhambu is very popular in Tamilian homes
To this tempering, add the sundaikaai/turkeyberry. The berries doesn't have that bitter taste, maybe due the brine, when sauteed in hot oil along with basic spices,they give beautiful aroma and taste to the final recipe

Since there is maa vathal added in this, you dont have to add tamarind. Heat oil in a sauce pan. This is a different way of makingvathal kuzhambu, i added some maa vathal and brinjalin this to make it more tasty
