Cook a paneer gravy the previous night and store it for their lunch. I have some handful of JeeraRice blogged already, however, this one is different and I get to share it today for my Kid’s Delight event, guest hosted by Priya Srinivasan, themed on Kids Lunch Box Recipes
Some days I like to have it with a good 'Dal Tadka' some other days a spicy yummy chicken gravy would feel great and some times a paneer butter masala or a mushroom masala also helps
Jeerarice can be served with Dal Fry, South Indian Tomato Rasam or some gravy like Punjabi Chole, Amritsari Chole, Prawns Tomato curry, Egg curry (anda masala), Prawns Masala, Prawns Vindaloo, Aloo Palak, Mushroom Tomato curry, Kolhapuri Chicken Sukka and Hot and Spicy Chicken Curry etc
With just two ingredients also, it tastes so flavorful and it is actually a main accompaniment to many curries like dal tadka, dal fry, dal makhni or any gravy
Serve JeeraRice with any Punjabi gravy or Dal-Tadka. 1 cup basamati rice. Once cumin seeds crackle, rice(washed first & then drain all water) for 3-4 minutes. Add water salt, let it cook for 10-12 minutes. 1 cup basamati rice
It goes well with any gravy curry. Add the drained basmati rice and fry for a couple of minutes. Check out this super flavorful and easy version of Rice, JeeraRice
But in North India mostly rice is tempered with cumin seeds and served with Dals or gravy dishes. We mostly prefer it to be served with thin gravy dishes
